Man, it's been such a long time since my last journal post, haha... I have no idea what to write. Figured it's time for a new journal, hi guys! Happy April!!! I guess I have some news for once??

I'm going to be traveling overseas to the USA very soon to see my missus sickingstar and my tiny ass Applecollie ;w; I'm super hyped, I haven't seen them for well over a year now euhghughh... I'll be over there for almost 3 months, so updates here might be a little more scarce, but I'm generally more active on tumblr these days anyway :* huehueehe

I got traced! It's like I'm a real artist now, WOW!! I've been on a little holidays out of state for the last couple of days; which is why I haven't been around for the whole ordeal, but I guess I'll just throw my 2 cents out here.

Beesmo and some other observant deviants brought it to my attention that Fancy-Tramp(or ScaredPrince now) has been tracing my work, and the work of other artists on this site. When I first saw the comments about it I laughed it off because 'haha, deviantart!' this kinda stuff happens all the time around here. Those who attempt to gain 'internet popularity' by tracing other peoples art are bound to get caught out eventually, and you will never properly develop or learn basic skills by trailing along on other artists work all the time. I was browsing of some of the journals and comments while I was away, and frankly it's more than a little bit disturbing how easily people will write off something like this. Supportive fans saying 'it's not your fault' or blaming it on social pressures, when really, it's entirely the tracers choice to do this.

There is no reason to trace someone else's work and make a profit from it. If you want to get better at drawing, you practice! When you're starting out, tracing can seem like an easy shortcut to gaining a following, but it's only hindering you in the long run. I'm by no means a professional artist, but I know I've spent hours and hours drawing just to get to the point I'm at now. I wouldn't be as offended about this if Fancy-Tramp hadn't traced my art as commissions for other people. It's rude, unprofessional and incredibly childish.

I'm not encouraging anyone to go harass or make a further spectacle out of this, I just want my feelings on the matter to be known. If Fancy-Tramp continues tracing, from me or other sources, I'm sure it won't be long before people find out and this mess happens all over again. I really do hope that it doesn't happen again.
